The Durham VA Medical Center is located along Fulton Street in Durham, North Carolina. It is a tertiary care referral, educational and research facility closely affiliated with the nearby Duke University School of Medicine. It currently provides 251 beds for patients requiring general and specialty medical, surgical, psychiatric inpatient, and ambulatory services. Its services extend not only to the North Carolina community but reach as far as southern Virginia, northern South Carolina, and eastern Tennessee. The medical center is likewise a regional center for radiation therapy, neurological disorders, therapeutic endoscopy, and other special procedures.
