North Platte Regional Airport – LBF
In the city of North Platte, Nebraska is a small regional airport called after the city name itself: North Platte Regional Airport. Its airport code of LBF comes from its name extension, Lee Bird Field, named after Lee Bird, a local resident from a prominent North Platte family and a training pilot who died during the World War I. With the code LBF, the North Platte Regional Airport was constructed via private funding initially to serve the United States Air Mail. It was opened for public use in the year 1963.

North Platte Regional Airport only has one passenger terminal and two runways. It was under primary commercial service airport classification of the United States Federal Aviation Authority during 2008 but was immediately classified as a non-primary commercial service airport by years 2009-2010. An industrial park, to provide leisure and business needs, is currently under development. The busiest route flying in and out of North Platte Regional Airport is to and from Denver and is serviced by United Airlines. North Platte offers amazing local attractions which are accessible from the airport.

The nearest one is an eight minutes ride, La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham North Platte, and offers complimentary airport transfers and a lovely swimming pool. A little bit further away, for about ten to fifteen minutes ride, are the North Platte Inn & Suites and Baymont by Wyndham North Platte both of which unfortunately do not offer airport shuttle services but have free parking on site.
