Palmar Sur Airport - PMZ- Palmar Sur
Palmar Sur Airport is a public airport located in Palmar, Costa Rica that serves the areas of Palmar Norte and Palmar Sur located in Puntarenas Province in Costa Rica. It is owned and operated by the Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil, the civil aviation authority of Costa Rica. A stunning view of the coastal mountain range and the Terraba River is the aesthetic appeal that the airport offers. At present, charter services are catered in the airport as well as a daily scheduled flight from San Jose.
Best Time to Visit
PMZ-Palmar Sur is the main gateway to several tourist destinations in Costa Rica. A taxi is available in the airport that will brings you to several points of tourism in the region such as Chontales, Ojochal, Sierpe, Uvita and San Buenaventura. However, the airport had to close back in July 2018 to be able to allow major renovations and improvements in the airport. It was re-opened several months after in January 2019. At present, Sansa Airlines is the current airline serving flights to San Jose- Juan Santamaria in the airport.
